A warm inviting place to stay,
where the true spirit of Japan lives on

The rural woodlands welcome travelers ―Tsukiyono has long been adored by various artists and master craftsmen. Among them was Kiyoshi Yamashita, a wandering painter known as “Van Gogh of Japan”, who used to stay at our hotel and loved it very much. The mosaic tile mural in our “Haniwa Bath”, a reproduction after the Chigiri-e (colored paper collage) by Yamashita takes on an antique look. The hotel would like to follow stubborn but sincere artisanship: to pay full attention on every single ingredient in our cuisine to offer only genuine contents to our guests— this is our motto.

In 1924, the founder of the hotel Kenzo Fukatsu discovered the source of local hot springs in the rice fields. The melted snow from Mt. Tanigawa soaks into the ground, and it takes 17 years before it then gushes out as hot springs, which are celebrated for their positive effect on your skin.

2,The warmth of our staff relaxes your mind SERVICE

Once upon a time the samurai skewered wild vegetables and river fish on their swords and cooked them on an open fire. The regional cooking style “Irori Kensan-yaki” (grilled on the sunken fire) has its roots in “Kensaki-yaki” (sword grilling).
Why not try and enjoy the delicious charcoal-grilled food?
